Because of an Design issue early 1200 G-Rex's only have 1 PCI slot that can do DMA, this is slot #1. [Picture 1] Later Revisions have 2 DMA slots. You can identify this on a sticker called "Neue Revision" and on some additional wires soldered to the G-REX board and logic unit. [Picture 2].

The ForteMedia801 based cards needs hardware address parity support which is not supported by G-Rex 1200 - Due to the complete redesign of G-Rex 4000 cards it was possible to add it to G-Rex 4000 series of cards, rework of the G-Rex 1200 in that case was not possible. Only a few cards use address parity. The fact that the FM801 is one of the few cards that uses it and it was found after the G-Rex 1200 was designed and released, it could not be incorporated in the design of G-Rex 1200. G-Rex 4000 series cards can all use the FM801 driver. 1200 G-Rex owners can use the Solo-1 driver.
